Highland Park, also called Viewing Park is considered one of the most beautiful parks in Baku City. The naming Viewing Square is not accidental – the whole Baku, including its Maiden Tower, Flame Towers, Flag Square, etc. are seen from the Highland Park – the panorama is charming! There you can take rest by breathing fresh air, viewing the city, drinking tea in the Highland Park Café , while listening to the classic lounge music. It’s the best place to relax, that is located right in the heart of Baku.

The Azerbaijan Carpet Museum “ City of Flying carpets” (the first of its kind in the world), where you can see examples of Azerbaijan’s seven schools of weaving and was created in 1967.The Museum is a treasury of Azerbaijani national culture. It demonstrated carpets in close connection with other kinds of traditional handicrafts of Azerbaijan. Its collection includes about 14 000 traditional carpets, embroideries, costumes, copper artworks, jewellery art, as well as contemporary works of glass, wood, and felt.

«Little Venice» in Baku Boulevard is a small town built in 1960. It was expanded up to 10.000 sq.m. in 2012. The town has two large and several small islands, which are connected by decorative stone bridges, and gondolas can be seen travelling in the channels full of still and clean water.

The Government House raised in the Soviet era, between 1936 and 1952, on the designs of Lev Rudnev (also the main architect of the main building of State University in Moscow) and V. O. Munts. The building is occupied now by offices of different governmental organizations.

In September 2010, the world’s tallest flagpole (then 162m) was installed at the Bulvar’s southern tip.You can stroll around but not climb the huge base-mound, and the whole area is pleasant for gentle bicycle rides – rental agents available near the Caspian Waterfront Mall.

The Baku Seaside Boulevard, construction of which started back in 1909, is considered to be one of the longest promenades on the planet.The total length of the Seaside Boulevard is now 25 kilometers. Baku Boulevard is not only about strollers, green areas, park benches and the sea; there are quite few very interesting buildings located there: a 75 meter- high parachute jump tower, the new Carpet Museum (built in the shape of a rolled-up carpet), the International Mugham (Azerbaijani national music) Centre, and even the charming“Baku Venice” waterway and canal complex where you can ride in a gondola.

Stop At: Heydar Aliyev Cultural Center, Heydar Aliyev Avenue, 1/1, Baku 1033 Azerbaijan

The iconic Heydar Aliyev Centre was designed by Iraqi-British architect Zaha Hadid and is famous for its distinctive flowing, curved style that eschews sharp angles. As a brilliant piece of post-modern architecture, the building’s shape is an eternal cycle, connecting the past with the present. The building houses a conference hall, gallery halls, museums and more and seeks to unite people of diverse backgrounds in a place of shared ideas. The building won the London Design Museum award in 2014.
