  • star rating  Excellent weather, friendly guide and good arrangements made this trip memorable, not to mention the picturesque scenery. The settlement and the lunch hosted by the locals was amazing and... read more extremely warm and friendly. Nazif, our guide did a great job and helped all the way in taking pictures which form part of our memoirs.

We learnt quite a lot about the history of the place and the view was amazing.

Only hitch was the vehicle - the seats were not very comfortable, especially considering the long drive on mountainous terrain.

  • star rating  Very well organised trip. Stunning scenery in the mountains which we reached by the off road vehicle. Lovely lunch in the village home. Murad was so friendly... read more and helpful and we all loved the driver who took us on the steep roads to the village. He is in many of our photos! Recommend the Basque cheesecake in the cafe at the forest stop on the way back to Baku! Thank you.

  • star rating  We had a fantastic day on this trip to the beautiful Caucasus mountains, in Northern Azerbaijan and close to the border with Russia. There were several visits along the way... read more including the Candycane mountains, the Jewish village of Qirmizi Qeseba and forests still showing their autumnal colour. The destination was Azerbaijan’s highest village, Xinaliq (over 2200m), and lunch in a family homestay. The local meal there was great and it was good to have some insight into the way of life in such a remote area.

Despite mist and rain in Baku, we were fortunate that the weather was sunny in the mountains, although cold, with ice on the ground and a recent thin layer of fine snow.

Our guide Leyla was friendly and informative and always happy to take photos of the group.

As the information says, it is a long day - we left at 8am got back about 8pm, and being November, most of the drive back was in the dark. But it was definitely worth the travelling.

We would have preferred the travel company to confirm the pick up time and location early on the day before rather than the evening (as the time and location were not what we were expecting). Also the minibus had two rear-facing seats and we both need to face forward in order not to feel travel sick - but this was easily resolved at our first stop.

    Overall a great day!
